The Lebanese Cancer Society is administered by a board of 12 volunteer’s members and 3 regional delegates. This board is elected for 4 years, without limits, with a standing committee which includes a president, a vice-president, a general secretary and a treasurer. This standing committee is selected by the members of the board for 2 years.
A meeting of the general assembly is held at least once a year. It discusses the financial and administrative reports and the future plans. It elects new members to fill vacancies (6 members every 2 years).
The LCS is open to all medical fields concerned with cancer in basic sciences and medical practice. It accepts and supports physicians and scientists interested in cancer care and research.
WHERE ARE WE GOING...
STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THE LEBANESE CANCER SOCIETY
(LCS)

The LCS Strategic Plan is the product of a yearlong effort by the Board of Administration to articulate the Society’s core values and to define a comprehensive set of goals and objectives to be used to guide the Society’s future course.
The Board formulated six specific goals, each an important tool for the achievement of the Society’s purpose and mission. Each goal is supported by a set of distinct objectives and strategies targeted to achieve that goal. The totality of these goals and objectives is the essence of the Strategic Plan and provides a map to guide the Lebanese Cancer Society (LCS).
The Lebanese Cancer Society’s Core Purpose is to improve Cancer Care and Prevention. These are the CORE VALUES that are essential and that guide ACS as an organization:
•
Education & Prevention
•
Research as the Basis for Improved Cancer Care
•
Patient Access to Quality Cancer Care
•
Credibility and Integrity
•
Professional Diversity
